Senior Year Update.

I am now in the middle of my 6th week of school. Yay! That is majorly exciting for me. So far the year has been spectacular and I really feel like I am growing closer to God. In all the stressful situations that come into my life with school and friends, I feel such a peace with God as he wraps His arms around me.

I am super excited about youth group this year. Last Wednesday was our first week with Aaron leading us as youth pastor. We had such a spectacular night! Plus I had two friends from school come. I think they both had a good time and I am praying they come back to hear Gods word. Both have since then asked me different questions about church since in was new to them, and both are very open to my responses and my faith. I hope and pray to see exciting things in their life!

In other news,  I have officially started my first college application. I have decided on Clearwater Christian College and at this point I feel God leading me into the Communication Arts major. I have no idea where that will lead me, but that is kind of fun in a way. Right now I am focusing on my school work in hopes to have good enough grades to have scholarships available. And I am happy to report I currently have straight A's. Woot!

God is definitely giving me an awesome year. It is so great to have a steadfast God who is the same everyday, all the time, in all situations of my life. I serve a God who always provides, and always will!

Fall?

Oh how I wish it felt more like it!

This song is my new recent favorite:

Starry Night by Chris August

From the Birds that Sing, In the Tallest Trees.
To the Human Life, of you and me.
From the Desert Sands, to the place we stand.
He is God of All, He is Everything.

Waohhh

I'm giving my life to the only one who makes the Moon reflect the sun.
Every Starry Night, that was His design.
I'm giving my life to the only son, who was and is and yet to come
Let the praises ring, 'cause he is everything
'Cause he is everything

From the Autumn Leaves, that will ride the breeze
To the Faith it takes, to pray and sing
From the Painted sky, to my plank filled eye
He is God of all, He is everything

Waohhh

I'm giving my life to the only one who makes the Moon reflect the sun.
Every Starry Night, that was His design.
I'm giving my life to the only son, who was and is and yet to come
Let the praises ring, 'cause he is everything.

Ohhhhhhh (everything)

Hallelujah (Hallelujah)
Hallelujah
I believe
Ohhh
Hallelujah (Hallelujah)
Hallelujah
I believe

I'm giving my life to the only one who makes the Moon reflect the sun
On that Starry Night, He changed my life.
I'm giving it all to the only son who gave me hope when I had none.
So let the praises ring,
Ohhhh Let the Praises Ring

I'm giving my life to the only one who makes the Moon reflect the sun.
Every Starry Night, that was His design.
I'm giving my life to the only son, who was and is and yet to come
and the Angels sing, that he is Heavenly

'nuff said.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

"16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." -1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

This verse was in my devotions this morning, and it really made me think. God has really been showing me a lot about His will recently and what He wants in my life. This verse shows me what His will exactly is.

Be joyful always. Not just when it is easy, and not just when you feel like it. But always. I know that is hard sometimes. There are days when I just don't feel like being happy or joyful. But God commands us to forget about that, and always have joy. After all, look at everything He has given us that we can be happy about. Pray continually. It is so easy to get into the habit of just praying before a meal or before bed. God wants us to always be praying though. Our lives should be a constant conversation with Him. Give thanks in all circumstances. That is a tough one. A lot of circumstances we are not very thankful for, but God put us in certain situations for a reason. We should always be thankful for those circumstances, even when its hard.

I certainly struggle with applying this verse in all areas of my life, but I am learning. And I am excited to live out God's will in my life.

(Please keep the family of a young student in youth group in your prayers. His father passed away suddenly Friday night. We are praying for Gods comfort to this family during this time.)

Time Flys!

Ahh! This past week has just flown by! It has been a pretty awesome week though.

Let me see.. from the posted we have had our first official meeting with the film crew at church. We named ourselves "Philm 48" based off of Philippians 4:8. We had a lot of fun hanging out for Labor Day. Hopefully in the near future we will have videos done that I can share.

This past Thursday I hung out with some of my favorite girls. I picked up a couple middle school girls and met some of the high school girls from youth group and headed to the pier. Unfortunately it was pouring rain so we relocated to the church. I had an awesome time talking with these girls about their lives and how much God loves them. I'm looking forward to doing it again in the near future!

Friday began with excitement when I found out I made homecoming court. I never thought I would be in this position but I am excited about the experience! Later I signed out of school early to head to Universal for Rock the Universe weekend. The only word to describe it is awesome. Some of my favorite bands were Kutless, Fireflight, Hawk Nelson, Tobymac and Relient K. All of the music was extremely good and it is so cool to see musicians honoring God in their music.

This week feels like it is going just as fast as last. I am praying I finish this week out strong!

Have a happy happy day!

Labor Day Weekend!

Happy Labor Day Weekend!
Even though I have only had two weeks of school, I am already excited about having Monday off. Not only will I be taking advantage of sleeping in, but some of the kids in Youth Group will be getting together for a "film crew" meeting. There are some students interested in making movies and filming events to play in youth group and upload to youtube. It is a great group of kids and it should be an epic amount of fun.

It has been a long week and I am going through a lot of different emotions as I am faced with different situations. I have to constantly remind myself that God is in control of everything. The happiness, the surprise, and even the hurt. He knows about it all and He is here for me. It is daily struggle to get over the hurts and refocus my eyes on Christ. I know in a matter of time everything will work out. But it is in His timing, not my own. I am thankful I serve a Creator who cares even for a teenage girls emotions.

This upcoming week I have some potentially very exciting opportunities. I hope you will be praying with me as I pray about the possibility of some leadership positions in my school. But I will post more about that later.

Have an awesome weekend!

Fam{ily}

How often do you tell your family members you love them and appreciate them? If you are anything like me, it isn't often enough.

When I think about my family, I think of such an amazing group of people. Nanie and Papa, Mom and Dad, Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, Brother and Sister, all of them are so incredible. Unfortunately, I don't think I let them know how special they are to me.

So I am going to take a minute to do so.
Nanie and Papa- Both of you mean the world to me. I love being at your house and spending time with you guys. You always show me such a great amount of love. I love you guys dearly.
Nanie J and Phil- I am thankful for your love. You are so special to me.
Mom and Dad- Thanks for raising me in such a loving, Christ-centered home. Mom, you are a best friend of mine. Dad, I am glad I have someone to share my quirky obsession of office supplies with.
Aunt Debbie and Nola- Some of my favorite memories as a kid are ones on trips with you guys. I always have so much fun with you and I love you both so much.
Aunt Kim and Uncle Jeff- I love spending time with you. Kim, I feel like we have so much in common and I sincerely enjoy every time we spend together. Jeff, I can always count on your "ugly" jokes to make me smile.
Uncle Joel- I haven't been able to spend as much time with you as I would like, but when I'm around you you make me laugh. I love you.
Stacey and Ryan- Stacey, when I was a little girl, I wanted to be just like you. Now, I still want to be like you, and I am lucky to call you a friend. Ryan, I feel like you have been part of the family my entire life. I appreciate your sense of humor greatly. And now there is Rylee who has stolen a place in my heart.
Jeffery-As a kid, I thought you were the coolest guy ever. I enjoy listening to your strong opinions on things and you still are one of the coolest guys ever.
Matt and Abby- I feel like the three of us are more than siblings, we are friends. I love you so so so much.

Family is such a beautiful gift from God and I am so thankful for the family I have been blessed with, and I just wanted to make sure they all knew that.

P.s. There is a lot of family not mentioned, but if I kept going, the list would go on a long time.
Give your family a hug today!
